Meadow Lake Library

The Meadow Lake Library has been a part of the community since 1946, starting from a very modest presence during the early years of the community. Over time the library has moved to ever-larger quarters. In 1972, we became part of the Lakeland Library Region, tapping into the wealth of books and other materials provided by that Region and by the Provincial Library system as a whole. In 1994, the library moved into our present location on Centre Street which provided ample room for our expanded services.

The Meadow Lake Library has well over 10,000 items available locally for borrowing, including books, DVDs, and audiobooks. Patrons can also order items from any library in the province to be delivered and returned right here in Meadow Lake. If a book is not available in the province, inter-library loans are readily available from outside of Saskatchewan as well. With your library card, you can also download ebooks and audiobooks as well as movies and music. There are several magazines available online at our website, newspapers from everywhere in the world, and several other databases including an auto repair reference, a health and wellness resource and many more.

A local library is so much more than books and movies. Computers and wifi access are available for public use with a library card or photo ID. With this Internet access for patrons, the Meadow Lake Library can also provide the resources of the world to our community. We also provide photocopying, faxing and scanning services to the community.

Our children's room is a popular spot with an excellent range of reading and audio material. There are books, games, story hours, and reading programs to keep them entertained and learning. Special events are offered throughout the year to encourage the young to visit the library regularly.

The Meadow Lake Library provides an extensive range of services for adults, children, and special needs. We will be glad to talk to you about your own particular requirements. Drop in and have a tour of the library with any of our knowledgeable staff and discover what we have to offer. Inquire about our special events such as book clubs, author's readings and special workshops and programs. There is bound to be something special that will interest you.

If you don't have a library card, bring in some picture ID and proof of your local address. Come and see what free services your library card can provide you!
