Fire Prevention Inspections
Fire Inspections
Fire inspections are an important service performed by the Meadow Lake Fire Department.
Fire inspections within the City are carried out by our certified inspectors, in compliance with the National Building Code and National Fire Code of Canada and the Fire Safety Act of Saskatchewan. Fire inspections are carried out at commercial and industrial sites, schools, churches, multi-family residential buildings and special care homes within the City to ensure that fire and life safety conditions are maintained throughout the community.
Voluntary compliance is the preferred outcome, and most property owners are keenly interested in preventing fire losses, injuries and possible fatalities at their premises. Where necessary, however, written orders may be issued, as provided by the Act.
Our inspection program works toward compliance with legislated fire and building safety standards which demonstrably results in reduced property losses due to fire.
