Fireworks
Consumer Fireworks are popular, and readily available in many local stores. Used properly, they can provide an enjoyable highlight to a celebration or festival.
However, fireworks are hazardous, and account for many injuries and accidental fires in North America each year. Therefore, the City of Meadow Lake has strict guidelines about the use of fireworks, including:
1. Permit required for all fireworks displays within City limits
2. Suitable site required (residential yards are not suitable)
3. Certain types prohibited (e.g. Flying Lanterns)
4. Competent supervision required
5. No use of fireworks while a fire ban is in effect
