2026 Capital Projects
This year, the City is moving forward with several major infrastructure projects designed to improve our roads, replace aging water and sewer lines, and restore critical capacity at the sewage lagoon.
While this work will bring long-term benefits, some temporary disruptions—including road closures, construction noise, and periodic odors—are expected. We appreciate your patience as we build a stronger, more resilient community.
Note: Detailed project pages with interactive timelines and feedback tools will be coming soon to yourmeadowlake.ca. In the meantime, please check below for current project summaries.
Major Project Update: Sewage Lagoon Dredging
Sewage Lagoon Maintenance
Update: July 8, 2026
July 8 marks the official first step in our planned lagoon maintenance project for this season.
- Today (July 8): SaskWater is attempting to run the aeration system in the Lagoon to clear away any built-up sludge and debris before the equipment is removed.
- Tomorrow (July 9): Our contractor, Nexom, will begin removing the aeration system to perform essential maintenance on the equipment. This removal process is expected to take 2–3 days.
As the sludge and debris are disturbed during this process, residents should expect a temporary increase in odor until the material resettles. We appreciate your patience while this necessary work is completed.
The next step in this project will be the actual desludging process. We will continue to share up-to-date timelines and information on Voyent Alert, Facebook and on our website as soon as information becomes available.

Residents should prepare for road closures, detours, temporary water shutoffs, heavy construction traffic, and the eventual restoration of all disturbed surfaces.
Seasonal Maintenance
Dust Control on Gravel Roads
To improve air quality and reduce road wear, Public Works is running our annual dust control program.
- Schedule: The first application is expected in late May/early June (weather permitting), with a second application typically done later in August to maintain dust control throughout the season.
- Process: Before the chemical suppressant is applied, roads are graded and compacted to ensure it binds properly to the surface.
